Who can come
Camp is for boys with bleeding disorders from across Texas.
Campers must be followed by one of our participating hemophilia treatment centers (listed below) and seen there within the last year. Eligible diagnoses:
Hemophilia A or B (20% or less)
Type 3 von Willebrand disease
Rare bleeding disorders who administer intravenous medications at home
Ages 7–14
Campers
Turning 7 by the first day of camp
Younger cabins follow a set schedule; older cabins get Free Choice
Everyone sleeps in cabins with counselors
Spots are filled in the order applications are received.
Ages 15–17 · by application
Leadership
15, 16 or 17 by the first day of camp
Your own application plus two recommendations (not from relatives or friends)
Service projects, teambuilding, the Wall, and CIT year at 17
Space is limited, so apply early. Campers fill out the application themselves.
No eligible camper is ever turned away because of inability to pay. If cost is a concern, talk to your treatment center or reach out to us.
How registration works
It starts with your treatment center.
Registration details come from your hemophilia treatment center, and registration itself happens in CampDoc, not on this website.

We send camp info to your HTC
We share registration details with each participating hemophilia treatment center. We don't know who's being seen at each center, so they're the ones who pass it along.

Your HTC reaches out
Eligible families get the camp info from their HTC, including a link to register.

You register in CampDoc
Use the link to register through CampDoc, our registration system. Camper spots are filled in the order applications come in.

Camp!
From here on, all camp info comes by email from CampDoc, including bus pick-up spots and times, or the address and directions if you're driving.
Haven't heard anything by the end of April? Call your hemophilia treatment center and ask about Camp Ailihpomeh registration.

What if we can't afford camp?
No eligible camper is ever turned away because of inability to pay. If cost is a concern, talk to your treatment center or email us, and we'll work it out together.
Who handles infusions and medications?
Our medical team is made up of physicians and nurses from participating hemophilia treatment centers. Morning infusions start at 7:00 for campers on prophylaxis, and all medications are built into the daily schedule. More about safety at camp →
Can my child learn to self-infuse at camp?
Yes. Med Ed is built into every cabin's schedule, and it's where our nurses teach campers how to infuse and what they need to know about their condition. Campers can start learning at age 7 and keep going all the way through Leadership. Anyone who learns to infuse themselves from start to finish earns a Big Stick Award on the last night.
Can my child bring a phone?
Phones should stay home. If your child needs to bring one, we'll hold it in the medical building all week and return it on the last day.
How does my child get to camp?
Campers can ride a camp bus. Buses leave from Dallas, Austin, San Antonio and Houston, and each bus has 2–3 adult chaperones. You're also welcome to drive your child yourself. Pick-up spots and times come by email from CampDoc.
Where exactly is camp?
Camp is held at Camp John Marc in Meridian, TX. For safety, the exact address and directions are shared only with registered families, by email from CampDoc.
What if it's my child's first time away from home?
Lots of campers are first-timers, and we've got them covered. Our experienced Child Life Specialists, who have been coming to camp for years, check in on every new camper and anyone who's feeling homesick. Counselors stay with their cabin all week, and the days are so full there's not much time to miss home.
How can I stay in touch during the week?
Send your camper CampGrams, one-way letters through CampDoc that are printed and handed out during rest time. You can also turn on CampDoc text messages to hear when buses arrive at camp and head home.
What if my child has food allergies?
Enter all allergies and dietary needs in your child's CampDoc profile. Camp works to accommodate them, and our team may reach out before camp to plan for anything serious.
How do I get camp photos?
We use Waldo Photos. You'll get a join code by email from CampDoc and again at bus check-in. Waldo finds your child in the week's photos and sends you a text whenever they show up.
What should my child pack?
Clothes for 6 days, bedding for a twin bed (or a sleeping bag), a towel, toiletries and a flashlight. See the full packing list below, and label everything!
Where can I find the emergency plan?
As required by Texas youth camp safety rules, registered families receive our Emergency Preparedness and Response plan before camp.

What to pack for camp.
Pack for 6 days. Everyone sleeps in cabins, so bring your own bedding. And please don't send anything valuable. We can't guarantee it makes it home.
